My love affair with homes comes from my background as a military child. My father's career choice allowed me to spend my childhood moving around the world with the Air Force. I watched my mother pack and unpack and make every home beautiful, on a budget knowing it was temporary. Sometimes it was base housing, a home in the suburbs, an apartment in the city or a villa in a souq (small village in a district) in Africa. Both my mother and father were creatively talented and artistic and do it yourselfers. From a very young age I loved setting up my new bedroom each time we moved, helping my mom rearrange the furniture until it was just right and creating a beautiful and functional space. It's not surprising I found myself in love with homes, architecture and design. My love for travel, art, home furnishings, textiles and beautiful spaces plays out with my clients. I encourage and coax them to find their own sense of style and have fun and consider new design ideas. My favorite question to my client for every space is form or function? This always starts a conversation of how will you use this space, what is most important in this room and what do you want to feel when you are here? I use these questions for my remodeling clients so that money is spent wisely to deliver exactly what they want. I also use this for staging clients so we can create a high emotional response from buyers to their home to elicit top dollar.
